That white spot at her lips is the filter tip! This chic young woman was sitting here in the Bourke Street Mall. I was observing her and wondering how close I should get to take the pic. Immediately, as I’m still thinkin’ about it, she gets out of her handbag her roll-your-own cigarette making materials, hand rolled without the benefit of that little gadget I’ve seen others use. I watched her complete the process, but she just put the cigarette away in her bag, I guess for next time.

Long-time photo enthusiast, my 'style' could be defined as colourful and eclectic, 'tho I do like to experiment.

    1. Thanks, Eileen — I presume you’re referring to the photo itself. I guess vintage to me could be the old-time sepia images, although this one is a lot darker (provided by the border style) which, for my purposes, was ideal as I wanted to isolate her as the main subject.

  1. Did you use a special filter in a photo editing software to show only the outline? If so how did you decide on that particular filter? I like how the outline simplifies the photo.

    1. Hi Jade! PicturesLab has a variety of filters. The photo itself used the Vintage filter, and the ‘sketch’ used the filter called Edge Detection which I tweaked it to reduce the colour. I don’t edit my cellphone image editing attempts afterwards, so WYSIWYG! The first time I used Edge Detection (quite a while ago, as you can see by the year in the copyright) I was pleased as I had wanted to make it look like a simple sketch. I think it does this reasonably successfully.
