I like this Victorian-era arcade. Goes between the Bourke Street Mall and Little Collins Street in the CBD. I took this photo from close to the Bourke St Mall, so you can see it’s not a long arcade. The ambience here is engaging, with its architecture, delightful boutique stores and appropriate era colour scheme and flooring. There’s always lots happening and sometimes I like to stop for a coffee and a chocolate at Koko Black, who make absolutely scrumptious temptations. One of the main events each hour, is waiting for the clock to chime, with Gog and Magog doing the honours with the gonging (you can see the clock at the end of the arcade in the distance, with Gog and Magog on either side). The Royal Arcade is a tourist well-loved shopping destination.

Long-time photo enthusiast, my 'style' could be defined as colourful and eclectic, 'tho I do like to experiment.

  1. I have a photo of my great-grandmother and one of my great-aunts that I think was taken in a studio on Bourke or Little Collins St, but I would have to check. I wonder if the studio was in the Mall?
