Three red apples. Various software. Two views.
Three red apples, close crop. Various software. Two views.

I’ve been having great fun with Picture Perfect in obtaining some close crop images and using them to produce more ‘arty’ or a printed-poster look. ‘Close crop’ is enlarging and saving a small section of an original photo, like this post’s pix, using different aspect ratios, eg square, 3×2 and so on. Often I will adjust this new crop further, like this post. Then I like to play around with other softwares for differing effects. I’m very pleased with the results of this method. The original of this photo was a D80 in macro mode; the detail has been preserved beautifully with the close crop.

PS: I’ve re-organised my blog pages and have removed the Galleries page and placed a Galleries widget in the sidebar. There are currently six galleries to view. I hope that by placing them in the sidebar, you will wish to click onto an image to see what’s inside, or at least I hope so! Only photos. Enjoy…

Also, there is now a Posts I Like widget in the footer. I hope you see something to entice you to visit those postings.

Long-time photo enthusiast, my 'style' could be defined as colourful and eclectic, 'tho I do like to experiment.

  1. The red apples are beautifully painterly – and I did go click on the candy in the Japanese bowl, but couldn’t find a place to comment, so I will here: I Love the candy bowl pic. 🙂

    1. Glad you like the apples, Sheryl, and the candy bowl. 🙂
PS: The Galleries are just to be viewed rather than commented on, but I’m glad you’re not put off and have found a way to comment! LOL *wink
