    1. Hi! It has that effect on me too! Reminders of a wonderful very large, approx 12ft wide, black and white painting entitled Yam Roots by an Australian Aboriginal artist, now deceased, called Emily Kngwarreye (I think that’s how it’s spelled). Whenever I see it, I am simply gobsmacked by the intricacy of white linework on black background. This artwork, a full sized chair, tho I wouldn’t sit on it, also has that attraction and in reality is of a white material. It is located at the NGV on St Kilda Road. I don’t know the artist’s name.

      1. I would to see the Yam roots painting by the Australian artist with the interesting last name. I’d love to her the right pronunciation of her name. Anyhow, since I have never seem a yam root (they don’t grow in the Pacific NW of the U.S.; too cold and lack of humidity. About the wire chair, I was so involved with following the lines and the negative spaces, I ignored the whole shape of a chair.
